Hello there, and welcome back! In today's edition of the Eco Robotics bi-weekly newsletter, team 8016’s hard work, dedication, and teamwork will be shown, and their progress; exemplified. Since my last writing, here are some updates you should know of. Kicking things off, the team's new robot is almost complete! Except for the belly pan (which is the underside of the robot and is currently constructed of wood) and the electrical, all the parts have been 3D printed, or CNC (Computer numerical control) machined and assembled. Once the robot is fully complete - has most importantly been given a name - and drivable, the drive team can start practicing with it for the Capital City Classic event which is fast approaching and will take place at the end of the month, as well as with last year's robot, Clawdia.
In the meantime though, the responsibilities and dedication of the drive team has continued to pick up pace. Soon, a selected number of individuals will be chosen to be the main drivers at this upcoming event. Members interested in these positions have been continuing to perfect and refine their driving skills in order to show that they are the best candidates for the job.
Last but not least, there has been some exciting news for the team. The Operations Department has just completed the creation of the new Donorbox Campaign! What is a Donorbox you might ask? Well, it is an easy place for you, your family members, or even your friends to donate to the team. By following the link below, you can help provide team members with healthy food at competitions, as well as their general STEM knowledge base.
Make sure to check it out!
